The battle Sprite...
Currently, little is known about the battle sprite. We were given three images far in advance to make everyone go crazy. This is me going crazy...
Each knight will be given three choices to begin their battle sprite collection. This will be a significant choice, as they will not be able to switch to the others (legally) after their choice is made. However, not all will be lost since there will be tons of sprites released in time.
*NOTE: This is not the actual release plan for the battle sprites update. I, like most of you, have no idea what will be added to the game. This is all just fan art/fiction/site/obsession?
WHAT IS A SPRITE?
Every sprite will have its own abilities, looks, and will grow in three stages. The first stage will be the weakest then they will progressively become stronger. However their abilities will pretty much stay the same. Leveling a sprite up will require a large amount of heat/materials fed to it. Every sprite will have (a) specific material(s) that it will desire. Depending on the sprite, it may take a large amount of these materials, or not very many at all. The amount of heat needed will vary as well. For comparison, the starter sprites will take about one 5* items worth of heat to level to T2, and a full set of 5* items worth of heat to reach T3. On top of this, a very large amount of basic 1* materials will be fed to the sprites before they will complete their transformation. The basic function of a sprite will be to assist the owner of the sprite, generally in a positive way.
HOW DOES ONE GET A SPRITE?
After the three starter sprites are released there will be many more to follow, and any knight can obtain all of the new ones. However, this will not be an easy task. To even have a chance at making a desired sprite appear, one will have to wear the appropriate 5* item set, and be in a locked, solo party in the arcade. If these requirements are met, there is a chance (depending on how rare the sprite is) that the sprite and its guardian will appear somewhere in the level. To get the sprite, you must defeat its evil guardian. All guardians will be the same except they will obtain the status/damage types from the level they are found on (a poison/beast depth = a poison/pierce guardian). The guardians will be like a mini boss and will be relatively tough for all but experienced players. After the guardian is defeated, the sprite will appear in the players inventory and can be used from then on. The instant a sprite reaches a knight's inventory, it will be bound to that knight only.
HOW OFTEN WILL SPRITES APPEAR?
Each armor set will have the ability to find three sprites. However, the rarity of the individual sprite will determine whether or not you can easily access it. Rarity ranks will be; common, uncommon, scarce, rare, myth. Each rank up will be three times less likely than the one below it. On top of that, the odds a guardian will appear with any armor (on average) will be approximately 5% of the time (varying little depending on armor).
WILL SPRITES BE THE ONLY THINGS GUARDIANS PROTECT?
On occasion, a guardian will be protecting an egg rather than a sprite. There will be two different types of eggs. The first will be a golden egg which has no purpose other than selling to a vendor for 5,000 cr. These will be uncommon in rarity and will be a nice crown bonus to any adventurer. The second egg will be white. This egg will actually hatch into one of the T1 sprites. Using a white egg will be the only way to obtain sprites that appear from armor you do not own. Even though this egg can hatch into any sprite (other than the starter sprites) the rate of hatching the different rarity ranked sprites will follow as above. On top of this, the egg will hatch within three days of being obtained whether it is used or not. However, unlike sprites and gold eggs, these eggs will be unbound for trade and sales on the market. If traded/sold, the hatch timer does not reset. Also, the hatch timer will be indicated on the usable in your arsenal.
WHAT IF I GET TWO OF THE SAME SPRITE?
Since sprites bind on acquiring one, if you manage to get the same one more than once, you can not trade/sell it. Instead the second sprite of its kind will simply leave your inventory and go back to the clockworks. It is very possible that a knight will lose many duplicate sprites before obtaining the rarer types.
WHERE DID THE SPRITES SUDDENLY COME FROM?
Some of the core's energy was recently released for an unknown reason. This energy contained the ability to change normal clockwork monsters into evil and stronger creatures, now called guardians. Since only a little energy was released, there are not very many guardians around and only true adventurers will find many. Unlike any of the other monsters on cradle these guardians are able to lay eggs. These eggs contain the sprites that will be collected from this point forward.
